Using endgrain wood for flooring is like walking on butcherblock; dense, springy, gorgeous. This is Kaswell white-stained fir and hemlock. The white stain is sweet because it's so reminiscent of what the wood looks like in its natural state. Also nice that Kaswell is local.
Snapshot of an eyebrow window in a little guest house we did on Marthas Vineyard, just completed construction. I love light moving over curved plaster - something to look at when you're gazing at the ceiling.


We integrated animal alphabet tiles hand-painted by our client's sister into this backsplash . There are no actual letters, so we had a fine time sorting through to identify the aardvark, the tortoise, the hare...


Just got back from Tres Gatos, putting these very cool cards up as a border in the back bathroom. The postcards are a set of bookcovers from Penguin Classics that we picked up at Brookline Booksmith. We figured it would be something to muse on while you are in there anyway.
